THE GAMBIA TEAM from left: Denia Mora, Limon, Costa Rica; Melinda Geiser, Harrington, Del.; Ethan Mast (team leader), Cattaraugus, N.Y.; Brent Mast, Salisbury, Pa.; Jacki Brenneman, Grantsville, Md.; Bethany Kuepfer, Millbank, Ont. Located on the west coast of Africa, this small country of 1.5 million people is 90% Muslim. Even though Islam is dominant, the land remains open for the gospel. Little effort has ever been directed at reaching the Muslim majority and converts from Islam have been few – but their numbers are increasing! This team will work with a local ministry, helping with community development activities, agricultural projects, and general maintenance. They will also work with the community children and do dramas and music. |
