2008 REACH Locations

Reading, PA The team in Reading will be a focused outreach to the Latino community and a growing church in the city. Prospective ideas include: evangelism projects including drama, youth outreach, work projects, moving the church, church office work, and participating in Sunday morning services.

Madagascar
Opportunities for the team in Madagascar include: helping in an orphanage, working on airstrip construction, helping at several Christian schools (including one with a significant outreach to Muslims), work projects at Bible schools, and kids’ clubs for missionary and other English speaking kids.

Thailand
The Thailand team will focus on building relationships through teaching English. Other opportunities may include partnering with local
workers in an effort to reach out to children and single moms that are coming in off the street.

South Africa
Over 20% of South Africa’s adult population is HIV positive and more than 420,000 children have been orphaned due to AIDS just in 2000. Opportunities for this team may include street evangelism, drama, relationship building and outreach to the AIDS community.

Israel
Despite periodic tensions and political unrest, Israel is still a young and vibrant country . This team would be working part time with a Christian school & church while also focusing on relational evangelism and language study.

Nepal
The Nepal team will be involved in a variety of things, including trekking, working as staff with a program similar to REACH, and working with children in orphanages and primary schools. The team may also be able to help with a church planting initiative that started 18 churches last year!

Indonesia
In addition to language study, the Indonesia team will live in a city that has one of the largest UPG in the world, 35 million, and work with the Love to Read program. The team will spend time ministering to young people through English classes and library. They may also helping with tsunami relief efforts.

Spain
This team will work with the local ministries and current missionaries in reaching out to Spaniards and immigrant workers in Spain. They will also focus on developing friendships with the locals and spend time in language school.

Uganda
This team will live at a Uganda discipleship training base. A big part of this outreach is to be God’s hands and feet to the Muslim people that live in the nearby slum areas. They will also reach out to the many children who have been orphaned due to HIV/AIDS.
