Does your connection with God feel as iffy and slow as a dial-up internet connection? How strong is your network of friends? Are your thoughts bombarded by junk mail? The enemy is all about identity theft—He loves tempting you to believe that you and your life are pointless. City Challenge is a potentially life changing opportunity for you and your youth group to reclaim your identity as children of our Father God, intensely loved and purchased with blood. Come trade in your old software and receive God’s version of your life, your true iDENTITY.

WHAT WILL WE DO?

During this experience, we will provide a clear schedule for your group to follow which focuses primarily on three areas: ministry opportunities, creative teaching sessions, and service projects.

MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES
Our staff will lead your group into a variety of ministry experiences, such as servant evangelism, kids’ club, prayer walking, etc. These opportunities are exciting for the youth! We’ve discovered that many return home with a new vision for evangelistic outreach and Christ-centered service.

CREATIVE SESSIONS
Our summer staff will lead a variety of creative sessions, which may involve teaching, drama, videos, worship, and ministry time.

SERVICE PROJECTS
Your youth group will also participate in service projects both at the SEND Training Center and within the Columbus community. We view your labor at SEND Training Center as high-impact and invaluable in our effort to reach the nations with Jesus Christ. Your acts of service help us provide a facility where people can be discipled and trained to share Jesus with the world. Locally, our goal is to bless the inner city ministries with whom we partner through your youth group’s acts of service.

THE LOCATION

Rosedale Mennonite Missions (RMM) owns a house in Columbus, Ohio, that is used as a training center for the SEND Ministries Department. The house is the site of a three-month Discipleship Training School for Reach every year. During the summer and winter it is used to host youth/school groups and City Challenge.

The SEND Training Center is a huge home built in the late 1800’s. It is located on the edge of a nice middle-class neighborhood, but is bordered by an inner-city neighborhood. This location provides many opportunities for ministry.
